Renewing Vows, Continued Love
Below is an almost 50-year love story and the Dream to renew their vows in front of their loving family and friends. The below is Diane’s story, written by a close friend:
“16 months ago, My best friend Diane, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, just shortly after losing her own son. She was given a prognosis of 10 months to a Year, and she’s had the battle of her life to get past that initial year. This period of time in her life, and her families, have been the worst type of hell that anyone can imagine.
She’s so strong and determined, she’s an inspiration to others and her just being here fighting has given her family and friends more time with her, which is something we all cherish very much.
Diane is an amazing best friend, wife to Ray, mother to 3 great kids that have given here 4 incredible grandchildren. Diane absolutely dotes on her family and friends & would honestly do anything for anyone to help. She’s spent years looking after everyone else, crafting and making handmade items/ doing stalls to raise money for different Charities over the years (raising thousands of pounds!).
Diane & Ray saw their daughter married in January (it was a magical wedding) The family loved it and it inspired Ray, Daine’s husband, to then organise a vow renewal because it’s nearly 50 years they’ve been together. They were childhood sweethearts. Their daughter Lisa found Eves Trust and messaged to see if they could help give Diane a day full of love and making memories. Which they kindly and thankfully helped, working with the family and pulling things together to make a magical day that Diane deserves.
I will forever be thankful and just overwhelmed by the shear selflessness of the Eves Trust team.
I truly believe Eve & Diane would have got on very much & The Trust founded in her name to do the brilliant and amazing things they are , is a truly fantastic legacy to Eve. Keep on keeping on.
