Break, Laughs & Relaxing
The below is Natalie’s story, where after such an emotional roller coaster, you just need a break:
“Hi, my name is Natalie, I’m 43 years old and I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in October 2024. After having visited my GP with weight loss and stomach-ache, which we initially just thought may have been IBS, further tests showed it was something more serious.
It’s been such a crazy, hard and emotional year for me, my husband and 4 children. The constant scans, operations and chemotherapy, it all takes it toll on everyone surrounded by it. Luckily, my nurse at the Chatsfield Suite Doncaster, put me forward for and Evestrust Dream, which I thought was so sweet. Less than a week later the charity had been in touch, assigned me a Dreams Coordinator and she had been in contact to discuss. She was so helpful and kind.
We decided on a weekend away in a lodge at Tattershall Lakes. Just somewhere we could take a break and have some laughs. The charity also arrange to throw in the entertainment passes as well.
We all enjoyed it so much and it was very much needed, especially the hot tub which was so relaxing! Such a big thank you to Evestrust and our Dreams coordinator Baileigh- Jade. What a fantastic charity!
