In September 2013, myself along with 8 other local friends took part in Tough Mudder in aid of the charity. We had a fantastic time on the crippling assault course along with the other Eve Merton teams there, whilst at the same time, raising money for people in unfortunate situations.
The very next day we all decided to embark on a trio of endurance events in aid of Eve Merton Dreams Trust. We set out looking for events across the UK that would test us mentally and physically. We decided on Yorkshire Warrior, Nettle Warrior and Total Warrior.
Yorkshire Warrior based in Harrogate was 16 tough kilometres across the Yorkshire countryside with hills, bogs, 200m river walk, 1km underground tunnet (yes, one full kilometre underground!) fire, ice bath, barbed wire, electric fence, plus lots more!
Tough Guy’s Nettle Warrior based in Wolverhampton was 17 relentless kilometres. The course was essentially the same as Winter Tough Guy but with an evil twist! Nettle Warrior featured the same obstacles as the Winter Tough Guy…only twice over!
That brings us to now. On Sunday we embark on the last challenge, Total Warrior, based in the Lake District. It is The pinnacle of obstacle racing providing the greatest course set in the finest venue, the Lake District. With 30 punishing obstacles designed alongside ex-military personnel.
Simple answer really. We are trying to raise money to help the lives of people less fortunate than ourselves.
We are trying to raise as much money as possible for Eve Merton Dreams Trust. Granted, all the lads involved have made sacrifices throughout the year for this, even funding all the challenges ourselves, trying to raise as much money for the charity as possible. Eve Merton Dreams Trust is a non-profit Doncaster Cancer Charity, set up and founded by Doncaster People to help Doncaster people.
