Butterflies Bring Happiness

Butterfly gifts brought happiness to Lesley-Ann.

Lesley was a lady who loved butterflies, but most of all, she loved her family around her. During Lesley’s last few weeks, she received visits from community nurses for palliative and end of life care, and it was during one of these visits that her nurse Laura, spoke with her about Evestrust and the possibility of a dream.

Lesley loved the idea and I (Laura) reached out and made a time sensitive request for a butterfly themed surprise for Lesley.

Originally Lesley had asked for a visit from Jason Momoa for him to have a date with her daughter Sammy! But even Evestrust and our Dreams Coordinator Baileigh, had to compromise a bit with that request 🤣

Within 24 hours of her request, Lesley had a mountain of butterfly gifts hand delivered by Baileigh, who also spent some time with both Lesley and her family. There were butterfly blankets, butterfly socks for Les in multiple colours, lights, ceiling stick on butterflies, candles, a huge bouquet of flowers with an added butterfly stick in there, butterfly cupcakes and the list was endless, the gifts just kept on coming! Les’ family were very emotional at everything she had been given and immediately her bedroom was transformed into a butterfly house and Lesley was ecstatic with the result!

Evestrust even managed to present Lesley with a signed framed picture of Jason Momoa, and as Lesley’s sister said this was the next best thing to the man himself.

Lesley and her family enjoyed some time together with her gifts and will hold those memories for a lifetime.

Sadly, as Lesley had a terminal diagnosis, she passed away a few days later but, the smiles and happiness that the dream brought to her and her family in her last days of life were priceless. Lesley’s family have passed on their thanks for what a difference the kind gesture made in her last few days.

Lesley’s sister Sammy said:
