I (David Buddery) completed the Guernsey half marathon in a time of just under 3 hours. Not normally impressive but bear in mind I have lost over two stone in weight as I previously couldn’t walk up a short hill to work in the morning. My motto for the run was – making my dream come true to help others realise theirs.
I had been training for about 12 months after recovering from torn ligaments in my ankle and with the support of my partner Kelly and son Nolan I made it to the start line of my first half Marathon.
I managed to raise over £300 through sponsorship and bake sale at work, with the great support of my colleagues in Guernsey and the UK at The Travel Corporation.
As I made it towards the finish line I picked up Nolan, sporting his Eves Trust t-shirt and carried him over the line.
