Dee’s Dream – Renewal of Vows

Eve's Trust deliver Dee's DreamIn April 2013 our world came crashing down when we received the news that our amazing mum had Ovarian cancer, worse still it was terminal and was very widespread.

After the initial shock and grief had worn off we wanted to do something for her, but with limited funds it was difficult to find that something really special.

It wasn’t until late March this year that mum said she’d like to renew hers and my dad’s wedding vows. I got straight on it, emailing possible venues etc. and that was when the lovely Karen Merton emailed back from Cusworth Hall and told us about the Eve Merton Dreams Trust.

To say we were all touched is an understatement, the fact that people were willing to help in such a generous way is just incredible. After the initial email things started to move pretty quickly. We we’re put in touch with Clynton, one of the founders of the Trust who couldn’t have been more helpful. We discussed everything that mum would like and that was it, we were away. Flowers done by the lovely Dawn, photography done by the fab Glynne Harrison, catering was done by Sue Batty and it was divine! Venue for the ceremony was kindly donated by Cusworth Hall, and the reception was at The Glasshouse, all taken care of by the Trust. Janice Castings the celebrant donated her time as did 2 very generous drivers, Paul Casson with his camper van and Shane Fox with his Mercedes, so we had transport to and from the venue. My own friend Jayne Lane of Bounce & Play donated her time as our disco and kept the kids entertained!

The day went brilliantly well, everyone had a lovely time, the sun shone and everything was just beautiful. Nothing was missing. We feel very lucky to have stumbled across this exceptional charity and cannot thank everyone involved enough, you have given us priceless lasting memories and for that we will be truly thankful.
