A Frozen Christmas visit!

This Christmas, Eve’s Trust came together with Santa and Elsa from Frozen to grant a Christmas wish for a very special local family.

CarolineCaroline Cooper is currently on Ward 18 of Doncaster Royal Infirmary undergoing her 3rd course of Chemotherapy for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Caroline’s story was brought to us by one of the nurses on the ward after we completed a similar request during the Festive period the year before.

Caroline & her family have struggled with the intense and isolating nature of her condition. Due to the high risk of infection the majority of patients on Doncaster’s Ward 18, including Caroline, are unable to leave their rooms with visitation kept to a minimum.

As you’ll appreciate this can be difficult for anyone, especially a mother of 2 during the Christmas period. Caroline however has tried to take it all in her stride, openly volunteering to Caroline 2help the charity and share her story with some of the charities partners, the press or anyone who could help us continue to do the work we do. For this we can only stand in awe and respect a woman who is fighting her own personal battle while her thoughts are constantly with her family, twin daughters Rosy & Maria and her loving husband Mike.

The Dream itself was a Magical one. Using our contacts with Santa Claus we were able to arrange a special visit from the main man himself and a very special guest. After finding out that Caroline’s daughters were crazy for Disney’s Frozen, we were able to arrange a visit from Princess Elsa.

Santa & Prince Elsa were of course bearing gifts for all, Rosy & Maria would both receive a special Frozen build a bear, colouring book, necklace, annual and other Frozen goodies each. Husband Mike would have his love for building things quenched with his own Lego set and Caroline herself got something extra special. Santa brought her a personalised fleece blanket with all her favourite family pictures built right in. Something she can keep with her during her time on the ward to always remain close to her family.

Just seeing the smiles on Caroline, the girls and all the family really emphasises what we’re trying to do and what your support is helping us achieve. We wish Caroline and all of her family a very Merry Christmas xXx
