Sometimes Dreams our just something we need in the moment. Joanne needed to relax after months of treatment and worry.
Please read her story in her own words:
“My name is Joanne. My journey started when I was diagnosed with bowel cancer I September 2023, after having a colonoscopy. In November I had surgery to remove part of my bowel, which ended in a 5 day hospital stay,. Then in February I started a course of 4 rounds of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, this took it out of me, causing extreme tiredness, diarrhoea, stomach ache and sharp tingling in my fingers and toes, but I still managed to keep working full time.
I have now recently completed the course and have spoken with my oncologist. I’m just waiting for a letter from christies to see if I need further treatment.
I heard about eves trust from a lovely nurse at the hospital who put me up for a nomination. The charity responded to me quickly and my designated Dreams Coordinator, Baileigh, made contact with me. I quickly found that dealing with the charity was easy and stress free, just what I needed. They asked me what I wanted or needed, right then I just needed a little break away, somewhere I could relax and try to put my mind elsewhere.
The break was lovely and relaxing, perfect for taking my mind of things, just what I needed. I cannot Thank you everyone at the charity enough xx”
