On Saturday 26th July the team put together the most wonderful tea party at the Earl of Doncaster for my mum Margaret Hicks.
My mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer on 23rd December 2010. It was a massive shock to us all but mum has handled every single hurdle, all the medication, the scans and countless trips back and forth to the hospital with a smile. This past year, two new tumors where found and she has endured 5 days of radiotherapy which as always done with a smile.
This year because she has had so much happen I thought it would be nice to arrange a birthday party for her and this is where the Eve Merton Dreams Trust team became angels. They arranged everything, the venue (The Earl of Doncaster) & and all the arrangements, even down to our own photographer (Andrew Kelly) to record the day.
Mum was over the moon, seeing her friends and family all there to greet her, tears were shed but the smile was still there and she was enjoying her party, words cannot express how happy the day made her. She loved the flowers the trust sent they have taken centre spot on the fire place.
Thank you to all involved I could not have imagined a better day.
