Family Time
The following write up tells the story of proud husband and father. Battling Cancer, in need of some family time, but also still with the mindset to think of others. The following was provided by Simon:
“In August last year I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. It’s fair to say, my whole world and my family’s world fell apart, we did not know what to do or where to turn.
I started 6 months of gruelling chemotherapy which took its toll on me mentally, physically, and financially, as I had to go on long term sick which is something I have never had to do. It was just when I was at my lowest that a friend recommended to get in touch with Evestrust.
The charity replied so quickly and assigned one of their Dreams Coordinators, A lovely lady called Adele. She phoned us and asked us to pick a dream or a break away, something we’d enjoy as a family to help recharge the batteries. She recommended a lovely hot tub break, which we loved the idea of. The charity then organised and paid for everything, so we didn’t have to worry about anything at all. It was just the thing we needed in-between treatment and gave us the family time we needed. We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the Evestrust charity and everything they do”.
We posted recently that Simon and his family kindly donated £500 + Gift Aid to the charity, with in intention of that money to make a difference for another local family.
